The House

Glenmore Country House has been in the Oatts family for over 150 years, situated in a secluded and scenic part of the Scottish countryside near Oban on the west coast.

Originally constructed in 1854, it was subsequently enlarged with a new wing in 1935.

The private avenue leading up to Glenmore is lined by a wide selection of mature and semi-mature trees, giving the feeling of being completely away from it all, even before arriving at the house!

Set in extensive grounds and gardens, with magnificent views over Loch Melfort, the house has many interesting architectural features.

The entrance hall is panelled with red pine and carved figures on the oak banisters leading the way to our comfortable guest bedrooms:

Rooms are spacious and elegant, individually decorated and furnished with antiques, pictures and ornaments.

The Drawing Room is the perfect place in which to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet.

This is also the room in which we serve breakfast, whilst you enjoy the views of the garden and nearby Loch Melfort.

Guests welcome to relax in main garden to front of house or explore romantic organic walled garden. Here, Melissa grows fruit & vegetables in abundance. Ancient apple trees produce stewed fruit for breakfast. Play on the newly made croquet lawn – it’s not perfect but it’s fun!

As a guest, you are welcome to stay around the house and come and go as you please, making Glenmore ideal for a longer stay for you to explore this wonderful part of Scotland.
